Climate Week NYC 2024, one of the world’s largest annual climate events, took place from September 22-29 with over 600 activities across New York City. Hosted by Climate Group in partnership with the United Nations, it brought together business leaders, policymakers, and environmental advocates to drive climate action.
As a Hub Live Partner, Hitachi joined over 1,000 leaders to discuss the critical role of businesses in addressing climate change. Key themes included managing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, especially hidden emissions like embodied carbon. Discussions also highlighted the potential of AI in climate action and emphasized sustainability as a value creator.
The event stressed the urgency of collaboration and leadership in overcoming barriers to achieve a net-zero future. Under the theme "It’s Time", it called for coordinated action to meet climate challenges and promote sustainable solutions.
